Former New York City Mayor David Dinkins dies, aged 93
David Dinkins, the first and only Black mayor of New York City has died at 93, according to NYT, NBC NY and the NY Post. Two senior NYPD officials told NBC NY that Dinkins died of natural causes on Monday evening, just six weeks after the death of his wife, Joyce Dinkins. As the news spreads, many New Yorkers are paying tribute to the statesman and his contributions to the city.
